The Committee

The Committee on the Planning and Coordination of Financial Education Activities has the purpose of promoting and coordinating initiatives useful for increasing financial, insurance, and social security knowledge and skills among the population and improving everyone’s ability to make choices consistently with their goals and conditions.

It was established in 2017 by Italian Decree of the Minister of Economy and Finance, in agreement with the Minister of Education, University and Research and the Minister of Economic Development, in implementation of Italian Decree Law no. 237/2016, converted into Law no. 15/2017, containing “Urgent provisions for the protection of savings in the credit sector”.

The Committee is composed of eleven members and is chaired by a Director, appointed by the Minister of Economy and Finance in agreement with the Minister of Education, University and Research from among personalities with proven skills and experience in the sector.

The Director is currently Prof. Donato Masciandaro.

The Technical Secretariat

The Technical Secretariat reports directly to the Director of the Committee. He/she convenes meetings, taking care of the logistical and organisational aspects and preparing the necessary documentation. He/she participates in the meetings, taking care of the minutes and prepares the resolutions to be submitted to the Committee for approval. He/she participates with the Director in the meetings of the working groups (Panels), keeps in touch with the Members and external subjects, keeps the archive and manages the Committee’s e-mail account.
