Global Money Week 2025 comes to a close with over 400 financial education initiatives for young people.
Rome, 26 March 2025 – Global Money Week 2025: over 400 financial education initiatives in Italy recognised by the Edufin Committee.
The thirteenth edition of Global Money Week, the awareness-raising campaign dedicated to young people and promoted by the OECD and coordinated in Italy by the Committee on the Planning and Coordination of Financial Education Activities (Edufin Committee), was a rousing success.
This year, over 400 initiatives were held throughout Italy, an increase compared to the previous edition, confirming the commitment of public and private institutions, associations, universities, schools and research institutions in promoting greater financial awareness in the new generations.
The Edufin Committee selected and promoted the initiatives that were collected in the official calendar of the event.
The events dealt with themes such as financial planning, saving, electronic payment instruments, social security, insurance, the tax system and financial legality.
In line with the theme of this edition “Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow”, particular attention has been paid to Internet fraud and scams, to information on financial themes present on social media and to the mechanisms that come into play when making financial decisions.
Younger children have been involved in games and educational workshops aimed at familiarising boys and girls with the themes of financial planning. For secondary school students, educational workshops, quizzes and lessons have been organised, while webinars and seminars involved university students and young adults. Online educational materials, among which tutorials, video capsules and
podcasts, have been made available to all in order to ensure widespread access to the training content.
Global Money Week has been actively supported by the Ministry of Education and Merit, which has invited Italian schools, both within Italy and abroad, to take part in the initiatives dedicated to them.
