Financial Education Month returns in October

“Build today what will matter for your future”: applications are open on the Edufin Committee’s website for organising events and initiatives throughout Italy. There’s time until 27 September

October is Financial Education Month and, for the fifth edition of the event , the Committee on the Planning and Coordination of Financial Education Activities will be present throughout Italy with a series of initiatives aimed at promoting the development of financial, insurance and social security culture. From today until 27 September on the Committee’s portal www.quellocheconta.gov.it you can find all the information useful for proposing an initiative in the “Ottobre EduFin” programme. To present your application, just fill in the online form available on the Committee’s portal.

In continuity with the 2021 edition “Take care of your future”, the fifth edition of the “Month” will be dedicated to the theme “Build today what will matter for your future”, to stress the importance of building, day after day, a basic financial culture that you can count on to better manage your savings and choose in a conscious way how to invest, insure yourself and set aside savings for retirement purposes.

Strengthening one’s knowledge is crucial for being able to achieve greater financial well-being, especially in a period of great changes, like the current one.

The initiatives will be held from 1 to 31 October 2022, they will be both online and in person and in various forms: conferences, webinars, cultural initiatives, seminars, shows, days of games and training addressed to adults, teenagers and children.

Also this year, three important events as part of the Month have been confirmed: the sixth World Investor Week, which will take place from 3 to 9 October, Insurance Education Day, which will take place on 19 October, and Social Security Education Week, held from 24 to 30 October.

Last year, the Financial Education Month closed with a very positive balance: there were more than 700 events organised throughout Italy and they were met with widespread participation, thanks also to the use of digital tools and to the implementation of many initiatives in hybrid mode.

The Committee invites associations, institutions, companies, universities and research centres, schools, foundations, public administrations and any other organisation that wants to engage in the field of financial education to participate with quality events. All initiatives that comply with the requirements set by the Guidelines available on the Committee’s portal will be welcomed. Participation allows one to use the official logo of the “Month” and to benefit from the numerous promotion activities at national and local level, designed by the Committee so as to ensure the organisers of individual initiatives greater visibility. Information on individual events will be published on the official website www.quellocheconta.gov.it and on the social profiles @ITAedufin on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and @ComitatoEdufin on LinkedIn.

“Over the years, with Financial Education Month, we have built an ecosystem in which institutions, associations, local authorities, private individuals, schools and universities dialogue, involving citizens, territories and communities,” stresses Annamaria Lusardi, director of the Committee. “We have prepared the ground to cultivate financial knowledge in our Country together. The Month lasts all year round has always been the motto of the Committee. A motto that has become reality thanks to the multiplication of initiatives proposed over the years by the many stakeholders of this important event”.
