After graduating in law and obtaining a Master’s degree in Law and Economics from the University of Chicago, I was involved in the regulation and supervision of the banking and financial sector as an executive at Bank of Italy (1999-2008), Senior Advisor at the Italian Ministry of Finance (2008-2011), Head of Unit of Banking Regulation at the European Banking Authority (2011-2015) and at the European Crisis Management Authority (2015-2018), Programme Director at the Florence School of Banking and Finance of the European University Institute (2018).
Since January 2019, at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, I have held the position of Director General of Directorate V “Regulation and Supervision of the Financial System”, which has the task, inter alia, of promoting policies of education and financial inclusion. I also represent the Ministry in various Committees with regulatory functions at the European Union and the Financial Stability Board.
