Mauro Nori

Counsellor of the Court of Auditors, he has been Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies since October 2022, previously, since November 2021, he held the position of General Secretary of CNEL. After an experience as a consultant at George May International S.p.A., since 1994, he has been a Director of the National Institute for Social Security (INPS). In INPS he was appointed General Manager in 2001, with the title of the Central Director of International Relations. From 2003 to 2008, he was Central Director of Pension Provisions. From 2008 to 2009, he held the position of Central Director of Human Resources and Deputy Director General. From December 2009 to February 2015, he was Director General of INPS. As Director General of INPS, he created the national database of certificates of illness and the electronic data transmission of all the Authority’s service requests. He also led the incorporation of the Social Security Institute for Public Workers (INPDAP) and Entertainment Workers (ENPALS) into INPS, achieving one of the largest mergers in the Italian public administration. He was the first Director General of INPS, as the single public social security institution. In 2016, he was appointed Counsellor of the Court of Auditors. In 2018, he was appointed Legal Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance Prof. Giovanni Tria. At the Ministry of the Economy, since April 2019, he has held the office of Deputy Head of Cabinet. In September 2019, he was appointed Director General of CONSOB, a role he held until October 2020. Passionate about rugby, he has been selected several times with the Under-20 representing Italy. He played in the Top level of the national rugby championship with SS LAZIO and CUS FIRENZE.

Born in Rome in 1961, he is married with one son.

Graduated in Law from the University of Florence, he obtained a first-level Master’s degree in Business Organisation from the CUOA of Altavilla Vicentina.
